Cisse finally moved to Liverpool in July 2004 for £14million from French club Auxerre. The striker had been linked with the Reds for two years, with the transfer being delayed on a number of occasions. Cisse's pace is, clearly, one of his major attributes. But he is also a tricky customer, lethal in the box and a menace to any defence - a powerful, stylish forward with great agility and the ability to produce a finish from both inside the box and out. But his season, and maybe his career, was nearly brought to an end against Blackburn Rovers when a seemingly innocuous challenge left him with a serious leg break. The TV pictures of the incident were horrific.
